it's not me, it's you

Okay, well, not you specifically (probably) because, as a general rule, the people who inhabit my blogoverse are decent, kind (& intelligent! & supportive! & witty!) people who tend to be far better to me than I probably deserve for simply sitting around in my pajamas posting stuff about my cats on the internet.

Speaking of...

Anyway. Let's get something straight right now. I'm not quitting blogging and I am not depressed. And despite suggestions to the contrary, I tend to think that most of the rest of the world needs counseling, not me.

See, I've had a rough year physically, emotionally and financially and it's recently been topped off by the death of one of the most beloved and important men in my life. Add in the fact that I deal with serve a sometimes rude, frequently obtuse public for less per hour than I'd make doing, oh...probably anything else I'm qualified for and you have the perfect equation to make my tolerance for other people's shit and getting shit on by other people fairly low. Imagine that. (Shocker, I know.) The year (almost year and a half, actually) I've had, there'd probably be something seriously wrong with me if I felt anything else. But believe me when I say I am using the term "you" in a very general "people in general" sort of way. Not you. Never.

So, I am okay, okay? You can stop worrying now. (yes, YOU.)

Yes, bacon. Bacon makes everything better.

Oh okay. I just had to worry about you jumping ship on the blogosphere thing. Leaving me to raise a blogson alone and all...
:)
I'm really sorry you've had a shitty year. I feel your pain. And yes, it is all the insane freaks that make our lives stressful that need therapy. Unless of course you are referring to the recoil kind. I could use some more of that.
*This should not be misconstrued to mean I want to shoot the idiots. That would be a waste of expensive ammunition.

You've gone through a lot of shit in the past year and have handled it admirably IMO. Don't worry about what a bunch of anonymous assholes have to say to you about it.

Personally I don't know how you deal with library patrons everyday. I know I wouldn't have the patience for that.*

*on that note, could you imagine Jay G. doing your job?

You've got every right to be frustrated and short with people right now. That's natural and healthy at times.

Oh yeah, and love the video! Sooo cute!

Damn it - and just when I found out how to can bacon at home...

It can wait.

Be well...

As someone who's been where it sounds like you're at, trust me when I say: it gets easier. Not easier in the sense of less people giving you crap (as far as I can tell, that just doesn't happen unless you become a hermit), but easier in the sense of it affects you less as you get older and gain perspective.

And kitties are definitely better than bacon.

There's a school of thought out there sez you have to blog *every day*

Yea, well, maybe, meh.

Post when you have something to say. It's better that way :-)

The idea of JayG doing your job, as noted above, amuses the hell out of me. I don't think the hobos would offer him fuzzy chocolates...

As to stopping worrying: No. And you can't make me. So neener!

I (along with many of your readers) have never met you in person (although I hope to change that at a blogshoot someday). Nonetheless, we are part of a loose community, and communities tend to have concern for the well-being of their citizens. So, at least in my case, please don't take it as mothering or nannying, and just the quiet and rather remote support of a casual friend. Lotta people pulling for you.

Ok, ok. I'll stop (sort of) worrying about you. But I'm the worrying sort. Especially about my friends. :) And friend is not a word I apply lightly.

Jen's right (as usual) recoil therapy is always a good thing. Recoil therapy followed by bacon or other meat products is even better!

Kid, I've been a lurker on your blog for a long time.
One of the reasons was when you became a 'new shooter' and followed your progress. Another was you show us the trials and tribulations of whats it's like in the stacks.
Many times you have kicked over the giggle box and we do not get a lot of that anymore.
@ Jennifer- it is not a waste of ammo.
Love you, Mike, and the Kittah.
From us to you.
Keep on truckin' and if ya need a lil' help with trolls we got yer back.

Hey Breda,

You're more than okay, you're awesome. And that video was just oozing cute across my keyboard - thanks!

Whenever you feel like posting, I'll look forward to reading what you want to share - but I'd rather you spend time with those you love and enjoy life than work for the demands of strangers on the internet. :-)

Hope next year is full of even more fun memories and shooty goodness!
